Caputo began his automotive career in 1994 as General Manager of Sun Chevrolet and later acquired the dealership in 2012, becoming a second-generation owner. Under his leadership, Sun Chevrolet expanded to four locations and generated $200 million in annual revenue. His vision and strategic acumen led to the acquisition of his dealerships by EchoPark, a division of Sonic Automotive, in 2020. He continued as Director of Delivery Center Operations at EchoPark until 2022, where he honed operational efficiencies and elevated customer satisfaction.
